In February 2018, Vardot hosted a public session in Amman on on-site SEO, led by CEO Mohammed Razem. The argument was that search visibility is built into a website during development and maintained through editorial practice, rather than added as a layer after launch. The recording and the presentation slides are both available here.
What the session covered
The technical foundations: semantic HTML, unique page title patterns, metadata and Open Graph tags, Schema.org structured data, canonical URLs and redirect handling, XML sitemaps, image alt attributes, and monitoring for 404 and server errors.
How content planning feeds search performance: building a content strategy and a production calendar, localizing content for target markets, and treating SEO and content marketing as one workflow rather than two.
The audit and monitoring routine: which webmaster, analytics, and audit tools to use, and how often to run them.
Where a CMS removes the manual work, using Varbase as the worked example.
What has changed since 2018
The structural case in this session has held up. Several specifics have not. Accelerated Mobile Pages is no longer a Google recommendation. Google+ shut down in 2019. Core Web Vitals replaced the page speed guidance discussed here, and Interaction to Next Paint replaced First Input Delay in March 2024. Varbase now runs on Drupal 11. And the session predates AI search, which is now a substantial part of how enterprise sites are found.
We have kept this session available because the underlying discipline still applies.
What you'll receive
The presentation slides as a PDF, as delivered in 2018, and a link to the full recording.
